Customized Training
- Funds may be available to help upgrade the skills of your current workforce on a reimbursement basis for expenses related to instruction.
- Companies must provide matching funds of 50%
- Employees to be trained must earn $20.00 per hour or less to qualify for funding
- Employee wages while attending training are not reimbursable costs, but can be part of the employer match
- Allowable costs can include contracted consultants, in-house trainers and other costs (for example: travel expenses, training materials)
- Equipment purchases used in the normal course of business operations, administrative costs, and facility-related costs are not reimbursable
OJT (On-the-Job Training)
The On-the-Job Training Program (OJT) helps defray the costs associated with hiring and training new workers or upgrading current workers. OJT provides reimbursement for up to 50% of the wages paid during the defined training period.
- Trainee must qualify for services and be registered with CNY Works
- Training must result in a salary increase
- OJT contract must be approved before the training program begins
- Trainee cannot have prior work experience in the skill areas outlined in the training outline
- The length of training time allowed will be developed on an individual basis
- Individual must be trained and retained for a full time position
