CNY Works has a New York State (NYS) Department of Labor 13-N grant that currently provides paid internships with green businesses. Our process is simple.
1) Contact Hanah Ehrenreich to discuss the details of how this internship relates to Energy & Environmental Systems (EES) fields, or how the business is a green business.
2) You and the intern meet with Hanah at CNY Works and fill out the Worksite Agreement (2pg), Internship Agreement (1pg), and the intern is registered with our OSOS state database system. This meeting should take 30min-1hour.
3) The intern starts the internship and completes it in the number of hours specified in the Internship Agreement. A site visit of the internship site is arranged for a CNY Works staff person.
4) The business will invoice CNY Works requesting reimbursement for the $1000 stipend with a time sheet signed by both the intern and the supervisor as backup documentation. The intern sends Hanah a short statement on their internship experience.
There are a couple ground rules to the internship: A) If an intern has already completed an internship with CNY Works, we cannot allow a second internship with that individual. B) A repeat internship will only be offered to a green business worksite that has satisfied all the invoicing and site visit requests with CNY Works from the previous internship. C) CNY Works reserves the right to limit the number of interns allowed for any single business.
